Aviation Résumés

One of our specialized areas of capability is the creation of résumés for aviation industry professionals, particularly with regards to non-airline flight department positions. Since 2001, we have helped pilots, flight attendants, schedulers, and mechanics find job placement with a number of companies, including Fortune 50 flight departments, university flight training programs, airlines, and international training providers. With over two decades and 7000 flight hours of personal and professional flight experience, including certification as an FAA Airline Transport Pilot, we can design a résumé that will “land” you on a path for “takeoff”.

A cover letter serves as the first impression for a potential employer, so you want to make sure that it highlights your best features and presents a well written and formal, yet friendly introduction to you as a candidate. Our staff will work with you to create a letter that compliments both you AND your résumé.

Already have a résumé or cover letter? We offer a complimentary, no-obligation review of your documents and a short phone discussion about some possible improvements. Most of our clients have at the very least a basic résumé that they have been working with, but we often find fatal flaws that detract employers. We can offer “tune-ups” to bring your existing documents up-to-date using current day trends and techniques.

Portfolio Creation

Are you an artist, writer, photographer, or have a need to create a portfolio that highlights your capabilities? We will work with you to organize and arrange your documents and files to create a living and impactful portfolio that allows potential employers or clients review your accomplishments in a well organized visual manner.

Networking and Job Search Coaching

New to job searching or been out of the game for a while? We can offer one-on-one coaching on how to network, present yourself to employers (both in person, online, and via written communications), and seek positions that fit your desires. We offer coaching services at an hourly rate.

Social Media Coaching and Review

In this day and age, a candiate must present a complete and professional presence, both online and off. We can help you design an impactful online persona, including LinkedIn, Facebook, and other online sites. We also offer social media “background checks” and reviews. Many employers conduct web searches of candidates. Do you know exactly what is out there on the internet with your name associated? We will conduct an in-depth review of the internet and popular social media sites to identify any potential issues that might come up during the candidate screening process. In the event any issues are found, we can work with you to resolve or address any of these challenges. We offer coaching services at an hourly rate.

Mock Interviews

When it’s all said and done, the purpose of a résumé is to open the door to an employer. Sometimes that’s the easiest step! Have you taken the time to think and prepare for what comes next? Make sure that after the door is opened, you’re invited through… the employee entrance! We offer in-person (Northern Virginia) and online (Skype/Facetime) interview preparation. Our sessions will combine both mock-interviewing as well as personal coaching to ensure that you enter an interview confident, professional, and collected, with answers that will impress. We offer coaching services at an hourly rate.

College Application and Essay Assistance

For many students (and parents) getting accepted into the higher-learning program of your choice can be a stressful ordeal. While we won’t write essays for students (we feel that would be unethical), we can offer grammatical editing, essay review, and formating suggestions to ensure that your application package is as impactful as possible.

Small Business Support and Communications Consulting

In addition the the services listed above, we offer customized consulting and marketing solutions for small businesses, with special emphasis on sole-proprietor and/or home-based enterprises. We can help set up and train employees on the effective use of social media, create promotional materials, or offer editing and document review services. As small business owners ourselves, we know that there is never enough time to do everything that you want to accomplish. Let us help take some of your load and work with you to create a communications and marketing plan that works for your needs.

Pricing

Due to the wide variety and nature of our work, as well as the fact that we work one-on-one with each of our clients, we can’t offer an exact price list on our website. Résumé and other job seeker document creation is charged a pre-determined fixed rate that includes initial document review of any existing documents you may currently posses, creation of a first draft, major edit consultation, final draft review and minor changes. Most résumé clients fall into a range of $150-$250 per document. Hourly consulting services are charged at negotiated rate based on the complexity and scope of the work being performed, with all actual work quoted a firm price in advance. If we exceed our quoted time while working on your project, it’s at our expense—not yours. All payment is due based on agreed upon terms, generally upon completion of the first draft, which will be sent in an non-editable and watermarked format. Upon receipt of payment, clients will receive editable documents (Microsoft Word DOC) and uneditable files (Adobe Acrobat PDF) for use as they see fit. We accept payment via cash, personal or business check, PayPal, wire transfer, and credit card (transaction fees may apply). .
